On October 7, 2023, the Blue Haven Foundation (BHF) partnered up with a local graduate women's chapter - Omicron Rho Zeta ("Inglewood Zetas") - to organize a SHOP PINK event in support of breast cancer awareness. The event took place from 1-5 pm at Glow + Flow Beauty, situated at 933 N. La Brea Avenue in Inglewood. Notably, a special award was presented to breast cancer survivor and chapter member Estelle Freeman. Attendees were encouraged to contribute by either donating a new bra to the Women of Color Breast Cancer Survivors Support Project or purchasing any pink product or wig available. Each purchase made during the event contributed to fundraising efforts for programs and scholarships. WNBA star Reshanda Gray generously sponsored the event, covering the cost of a glamour makeover for one fortunate recipient, in addition to providing giveaways. Reshanda Gray, the esteemed basketball player, graciously stayed for photos and autographs. Extensive promotion for the event was carried out through email, social media channels, word of mouth, and in-store flyers in the weeks leading up to the event.
